06/25/15 UPDATE: Success! Site moved to StockTrader.com.
When I purchased StockTradingToGo.com the domain in 2007, I had no idea what the future held. I loved the market, I had a new found love for “blogging”, and I decided to see where it would lead me.
Eight years later StockTradingToGo has seen over three million unique visitors and over eight million pageviews spanning nearly every country on the planet. Pretty wild.
So, when the opportunity to acquire StockTrader.com last fall came about, I knew I had to go for it. While the domain didn’t cost $185,000 like StockBrokers.com we purchased in 2011, it was still a serious investment.
After months planning and preparation, we are ready to make the move to StockTrader.com.
What will happen if I forget and still visit StockTradingToGo.com?
No problem at all, you will automatically be referred to StockTrader.com. Any bookmarked links you have will also automatically refer you to the proper page on StockTrader.com.
Do I need to update my browser bookmarks for the site?
While we recommend updating your browser bookmarks so they are simply up to date, they will still function fine after the site switch. Any links you have saved will automatically transfer you to the same page on StockTrader.com.
Will I still receive email notifications for Market Recaps ok?
Absolutely. We have nearly 10,000 subscribers via email alone. There should be no issues with email notification delivery. If you do have trouble for some reason, please email in for assistance.
Why did you choose StockTrader.com?
StockTradingToGo was a great domain and brand, however it had its weaknesses. First, it is four words which makes it hard to remember. Second, along the same lines as the first, total characters is 16 which is a bit long.
Third and most importantly, our parent company Reink Media Group loves premium brandable domains, already owning StockBrokers.com, Ticker.tv, and InvestingTeacher.com. Even with the high cost, there was simply no way we could pass up the opportunity to upgrade StockTradingToGo to such a terrific name.
What are you plans for the new domain?
The experience visitors are used to will remain identical: nightly market recaps, educational articles, and the Trade Journal. I do have some plans though to re-organize and expand the stock education articles database as well as add more product reviews and build out a formal traders resource area for those getting started.
Ultimately, the goal is to make StockTrader.com the best free resource on the web for new and experienced stock traders.
It has been an exciting first eight years to say the least, and I can’t wait to see where the site evolves over the next eight years.
