With the move to StockTrader.com now behind us, it’s time to upgrade the Trade Journal experience.
We created the Trade Journal over a year ago (v2.0 launched in September 2014) as I was tired of using Microsoft Excel to log my stock trades. I wanted more out of the experience, and decided who better to build it then our own team.
“. . . I was tired of using Microsoft Excel to log my stock trades.”
Using the Trade Journal (video tour), you enter your stock trades just like you would in Excel. Alongside the core trade details of symbol, date, price, quantity, you can also include notes, mark mistakes, tag your trades with strategies, upload screenshots, and view your buy and sell points automatically plotted on a chart.
For those in a social mood, completed trades can also be shared with the StockTrader.com community for feedback and discussion. Here are a few examples:
Overall, we are excited to finally make the Trade Journal free to use. With our free daily market recaps being subscribed to by some 17,000 investors, the goal is to bring thousands of new traders into the Trade Journal and leave Microsoft Excel behind.
