If you’re like me, it’s a time consuming pain in the rear to try and figure out what news took place on xx date for xx stock. Especially when you go more than a month or two out, it becomes a tedious task.
To address this problem, we’ve created a very simple tool that can go approximately one year back and pull headlines for nearly any day the market was open, for any stock.
If you have been looking for any easier way to conduct research to determine why a stock gapped higher or crashed lower someday in the past, please check out this tool real quick and send me your feedback.
Questions we are looking to answer at this time:
- How do you currently search for historical stock news? Are there any pain points with the experience?
- What news providers do you trust most for credible news on stock price movement? Eg WSJ, TheStreet.com, Bloomberg, Twitter, Briefing.com …
- Using this initial testing version of this tool, what do you like? What could we add or improve?
Personally, up until this tool was launched internally I used manually go through the Yahoo Finance new archives, week by week, until I got to the date I was looking for. I also have a paid subscription to Briefing.com.
Please try out the new tool and send me your feedback, blain (AT) stocktrader (DOT) com. Or use the contact form. Thanks so much in advance.
